Dear CTEA member,
I would like to start a member
news column for
our Web site (www.cteventing.org) and for publication in our occasional
newsletter. But I need help from you.
In the, um, many years I've been in the newspaper business, I don't
know how many times somebody would ask me, "Why didn't you publicize my
activity?" And I would say, "I didn't know about it. Did you send us
anything?" And the answer would be no. It never ceased to amaze me; did
he think newsmen and newswomen are omniscient?
I can say emphatically that I'm not. That means that if I am to publish
information about things the club's members are doing in the horse
world, you have to tell me first. So, please do that. Do you have a new
horse you are going to campaign? A new foal born on your farm? A new
client who will be competing? Are you attending a clinic out of our
immediate area? Have a report on a fun outing you've made, maybe to
some place such as the Hill Country State Natural Area in Bandera? Let
me know. Send information to me at
kpaledes@peoplepc.com and put member news in the subject line. I'll
compile the information and send it to webmaster Ken Albin for our Web
site and get it into our
newsletter as well.
